Welcome to Subteacher.ie (the "website"). Access to and use of this website is provided subject to the Terms and Conditions of Use. Please read carefully before you start to use the site. By registering on or using our website, you indicate that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to abide by them. If you do not agree to these terms of use, please refrain from using our site.

Changes to the Agreements

Occasionally we may, in our discretion, make changes to the Subteacher.ie Privacy Policy and/or Terms & Conditions. When we make changes to the Privacy Policy and/or Terms & Conditions that we consider material, we will notify you through the website. You are also expected to check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we made, as they are binding on you. Some of the provisions contained in these terms of use may also be superseded by provisions or notices published elsewhere on our site. By continuing to use Subteacher.ie after changes are made, you are expressing and acknowledging your acceptance of the changes.

Reliance on information posted and disclaimer

Subteacher.ie is a facility for secondary school principals to search for available qualified Teaching Council registered secondary school teachers. It is to be used for substitute vacancies of twenty four (24) weeks or less. Subteacher.ie is also a facility for available qualified Teaching Council registered secondary school teachers to keep an availability calendar on this website as well as relevant personal information and job experience to assist secondary school principals in their search to fill vacant positions. Subteacher.ie does not review or censor any information posted by website users.

The terms and conditions comprise of:

  1. A contract between you (Teacher or School) and us regarding the use of our website.
  2. A separate direct contract between a teacher and a school principal regarding the supply of services. Subteacher.ie is not involved in the contract between the teacher and school principal.
  3. It is the school/employer responsibility to ensure the substitute teacher provides the necessary evidence for verification and suitability to fill the position.

While we may assist with resolution of any complaint or dispute, school principals and teachers acknowledge that any legal recourse against a teacher or school arising from the services provided whether breach of contract or otherwise is against the teacher or school and not against us, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this agreement or on our website.

Subteacher.ie does not represent or guarantee the accuracy or reliability of user content.

We do not accept any responsibility for any loss which may arise from accessing or reliance on the information on this site and to the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, we exclude all liability for loss or damages direct or indirect arising from use of this site.

Subscriptions and payments

Subteacher.ie registered users may access the service by use of the following subscriptions for the Academic Year September to May (9 Months):

  • Annual Subscription
  • Monthly Subscription

From time to time, we may offer free trials of the service and/or mobile service for a specified period without payment. Subteacher.ie reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to determine your eligibility for a trial, and to withdraw or to modify a trial at any time without prior notice.

For some Trials, we’ll require you to provide your payment details to start the trial. At the end of such trials, we will automatically start to charge you for the service on the first day following the end of the trial period based on the subscription method selected. By providing your payment details in conjunction with the trial, you agree to this charge. If you do not want this charge, you must cancel your paid subscription through the subscription page.

Payments, cancellations and cooling off

If you have paid a subscription online, you have the right to change your mind and receive a full refund within fourteen (14) days of purchase (the “Cooling-off Period”) but only if you have not logged in or otherwise started to use the website.

If you have a paid subscription, your payments to Subteacher.ie will automatically renew at the end of the subscription period, unless you cancel your paid subscription through your subscription page before the end of the current subscription period. The cancellation will take effect the day after the last day of the current subscription period. However, if you cancel your payment and/or terminate the Terms after the Cooling-off Period is over, and/or before the end of the subscription period, we will not refund any subscription fees already paid to us.

Subteacher.ie may change the price of paid subscriptions from time to time, and will communicate any price changes to you. Price changes for paid subscriptions will take effect at the start of the next subscription period following the date of the price change. By continuing to use Subteacher.ie after the price change takes effect, you accept the new price.

Subteacher.ie is a website owned and operated by Posude Limited. Posude Limited is a company registered in the Republic of Ireland under registration number 511879. Our registered office is Elphin St, Boyle. Co. Roscommon.

Accessing our site

Access to our site is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on our site without notice (see below). We will not be liable if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period.

Intellectual property rights

We are the owner or the licensor of all intellectual property rights in our site, and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.

You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from our site for your personal reference and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to material posted on our site.

You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.

Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of material on our site must always be acknowledged.

You must not use any part of the materials on our site for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors.

If you print off, copy or download any part of our site in breach of these terms of use, your right to use our site will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

Our site changes regularly

We aim to update our site regularly, and may change the content at any time. If the need arises, we may suspend access to our site, or close it indefinitely. Any of the material on our site may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update such material.

Our liability

The material displayed on our site is provided without any guarantees, conditions or warranties as to its accuracy. To the extent permitted by law, we, and third parties connected to us hereby expressly exclude:

  • All conditions, warranties and other terms which might otherwise be implied by statute, common law or the law of equity.
  • Any liability for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage incurred by any user in connection with our site or in connection with the use, inability to use, or results of the use of our site, any websites linked to it and any materials posted on it, including, without limitation any liability for:

This does not affect our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, nor our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or misrepresentation as to a fundamental matter, nor any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Information about you and your visits to our site

We process information about you in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our site, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.

Viruses, hacking and other offences

You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material, which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of our site or to your downloading of any material posted on it, or on any website linked to it.

We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them. You agree that, to the extent permitted by applicable law, your sole and exclusive remedy for any problems or dissatisfaction with the Subteacher.ie service is to uninstall Subteacher.ie software and to stop using the Subteacher.ie service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Subteacher.ie, it’s directors, officers, employees, agents or suppliers be liable for (i) any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential (including loss of use, data, business or profits) damages, arising out of the use or inability to use the Subteacher.ie service, regardless of legal theory, without regard to whether Subteacher.ie has been warned of the possibility of those damages, and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose; (ii) aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Subteacher.ie service cannot be more than the amounts paid by you to Subteacher.ie for the Academic Year in question.

This does not affect our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, nor our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or misrepresentation as to a fundamental matter, nor any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Should any provision of the Terms and Conditions be held invalid or unenforceable for any reason or to any extent, such invalidity or enforceability shall not in any manner affect or render invalid or unenforceable the remaining provisions of the Terms and Conditions, and the application of the provision shall be enforced to the extent permitted by law.

Jurisdiction and applicable law

The Republic of Ireland courts will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising from, or related to, a visit to our site.

These terms of use and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of the Republic of Ireland.
